The Clear Thinking Of New St. Andrews College Examined

New St. Andrew’s College shows its Cultural Marxist slip though completely covered with the attempt of clever triangulation.

I don’t know if Doug Wilson supported the release of this propaganda piece but regardless it is the devil’s propaganda. The ironic thing about it all is it sells itself with the appeal that at New St. Andrews the student is taught how to think. Well, if this video is an example we would say that is definitely a case of false advertising because the only thing this video proves is that at New St. Andrews the student is taught how to propagandize.

The hilarity begins right out of the gate of this video as the video shows a photo of Martin Luther King Jr. back to back with a photo of a black baby in the womb. The voice over says as we see King,

“This Black life mattered,”

And then the voice over says as we see the baby,

“Doesn’t this one?”

Note the irony here is that Martin Luther King Jr. was a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood, the very organization, that excels as ending black lives in the womb. So, one might legitimately argue that if the black life in the womb matters than MLK’s live should not have mattered.

In 1966, Martin Luther King Jr. made clear that he agreed that Sanger’s life’s work was anything but inhumane and agreed that black baby lives did not matter. In 1966, when King received Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger Award in Human Rights, MLK praised her contributions to the black community writing, “There is a striking kinship between our movement and Margaret Sanger’s early efforts.” And, “…Margaret Sanger had to commit what was then called a crime in order to enrich humanity, and today we honor her courage and vision.”

In fuller context we read how MLK praised Margaret Sanger for the torture and murder of black babies. Keep this in mind as Doug Wilson and New St. Andrews uses MLK as an example of a Black Life that Mattered.

“There is a striking kinship between our movement and Margaret Sanger’s early efforts. She, like we, saw the horrifying conditions of ghetto life. Like we, she knew that all of society is poisoned by cancerous slums. Like we, she was a direct actionist – a nonviolent resister. She was willing to accept scorn and abuse until the truth she saw was revealed to the millions. At the turn of the century she went into the slums and set up a birth control clinic, and for this deed she went to jail because she was violating an unjust law. Yet the years have justified her actions. She launched a movement which is obeying a higher law to preserve human life under humane conditions. Margaret Sanger had to commit what was then called a crime in order to enrich humanity, and today we honor her courage and vision; for without them there would have been no beginning. Our sure beginning in the struggle for equality by nonviolent direct action may not have been so resolute without the tradition established by Margaret Sanger and people like her. Negroes have no mere academic nor ordinary interest in family planning. They have a special and urgent concern.

“The Negro constitutes half the poor of the nation. Like all poor, Negro and white, they have many unwanted children. This is a cruel evil they urgently need to control. There is scarcely anything more tragic in human life than a child who is not wanted….For these reasons we are natural allies of those who seek to inject any form of planning in our society that enriches life and guarantees the right to exist in freedom and dignity. For these constructive movements we are prepared to give our energies and consistent support.”

Pressing on with the video, New St. Andrew’s feeds into the lie that it is the fault of racists white people alone who are responsible for the death toll of tens of millions of black babies. We grieve, along with New St. Andrews that these lives have been snuffed out. However, to make White progressive racists the alone sinners in the death of black lives that mattered is akin to Adam blaming Eve for His sin.

It is true that countless Whites and Jews (Doug doesn’t bother to mention Jewish contribution to the scourge of the institutionalization of Abortion in the Black community) bear their own culpability for the advance of Abortion, however that reality doesn’t diminish that the Black community itself must alone share its own responsibility for Abortion. Doug’s video conveniently deletes any mention of that. Because of that convenient memory lapse the video takes on the appearance of “virtue signaling” on the part of New St. Andrews. It’s as if the sub-text is,

“See, we here at New St. Andrews understand how evil White People are and we likewise lament the evil of white people and proclaim the inherent victim-hood of Black people.”

New St. Andrew’s College gets points for subtlety. This video is downright as clever treason against one’s own people group that one will ever come across. Why, even Slick Willie would be proud of this kind of Triangulation.

As another friend said upon viewing the above video,

“But he (Doug Wilson) effectively makes an argument that the destruction of Black lives and Black families is the fault of….Whitey. By laying the problems of the “Black community” at the feet of (naturally) White “Progressives,” (clearly these are the “Real Racists”), Wilson undermines the moral agency of Blacks and reinforces the lie of White perfidy.”

New St. Andrews College might have noted that our current policy of abortion is completely consistent with the Talmudic religion. The Talmud considers the unborn child a “rodef” and so a “pursuer” and that as such it (the unborn child) is considered a threat and so can be aborted. It seems to me that our abortion law is thus an outgrowth of the Jewish Talmudic religion. But not a word on that in the video above. Just evil white progressives going all White Supremacist by oppressing the innocent black population.

Ironies abound in this video as another friend noted.

“A guy who wrote a book defending antebellum slavery and who named his school St. Andrew’s (whose cross is deemed a hate crime) is trying to convince Blacks that he’s really more progressive on the race question than they are. Doug has gone full retard.”

The whole video is supposed to be an example of New St. Andrews College’ “clear thinking and clear teaching.” One would get more clear thinking from a inebriated mole.

  1. I’d be surprised if Wilson had any direct hand in the video. Ben Merkle, president of NSA, was interviewed by Cross Politic and said that their marketing team was tasked with making the videos. I believe their marketing is handled by Canon Press, which is also associated with Wilson. I suppose it has his approval at most. I’ve only seen the video once, so I’ll have to go back through it and look for the points of your analysis.

    1. I did not think it likely that Wilson cut the video. I figured it was even possible he had not seen it. However, it completely smells of Wilson’s MO.

      1. I wish Doug Wilson would go and speak to the founder of Woodsoncenter.org he might actually learn some history about Black American’s up until The New Deal and its destruction of the Black family that was intact, strong and vibrant, that did not want handouts and the Black family since the New Deal welfare system where 60% of Black children are born to single mums.
Christians need to recognize the difference between sympathy which Marxism uses to promote their agenda, and compassion that gives people the truth and helps them get there.

  2. I watched the video again. They definitely avoid bringing any particular blame upon blacks for the murder of black lives (abortion is as close as they come, but they don’t exactly show any blacks at abortion clinics, or wearing the garb of abortion doctors). They could have even chosen as easy target like Gosnell. I think they are largely ignorant of their own complicity, however. Interestingly, on the Cross Politic show where they interviewed Ben Merkle, they discussed the fear that many whites feel when addressing issues about blacks and women. David Shannon, who goes by “Chocolate Knox” on the show, mentioned how his theologically solid white brothers in Christ will black leaders to “proof” their words before they say them. Merkle then responds by saying something parallel has happened with his wife (who has written a book or two on femininity) with regard to issues about women. They see the fear that white Christians possess. Check out the 106:30 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qSWhaNogj4

  3. I’ve watched the video and read your comments. Okay, so maybe there is some irony to choosing Martin Luther King as an example of a black life who mattered. But you spend an inordinate amount of ink letting us know that. I also agree that the video overemphasized the idea of whites being the originators and behind-the-scenes puppet masters of abortion. However, your characterization of the video’s creators and intent (Cultural Marxist, devil’s propaganda, virtue-signaling) strike me as both excessive and a little silly. If this really is a not-so-subtle attempt to bash whites, then why the statement about BLM not caring about black lives half as much as white prolife fly-0ver trump-voting evangelicals?

I agree with the video. I think it makes a powerful statement. And I didn’t see any acknowledgement of that in your comments. Frankly, I think you missed the forest for the trees. Also, I’m not sure that Jesus Christ is pleased with your comments. There is a lot of distain and even some name-calling (Slick Willie, full retard). I don’t think the latter would be appropriate from anyone, much less a Christian.

    1. Dear David,

Thank you so much for responding.

1.) The ink on Martin Luther King is necessary because the man is constantly being lifted up as some kind of hero when in point of fact he was a villain of the worst sort. When New St. Andrews continues in that fashion (and by putting King front and center in this video New St. Andrews is perpetuating that myth) then let rivers of cyber ink flow to the end of bringing low the hero status of Martin Luther King.

2.) I am fine w/ you thinking that I was “a little excessive, and am silly.” I am of the conviction that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

3.) It is true that white Evangelicals were mentioned in passing. However, only after blaming White people and without holding the black community responsible for their self inflicted holocaust. Strikes me as disproportionate. However, kudos to the video for getting that one slice right.

4.) I didn’t acknowledge the video’s made a powerful point because I don’t believe it made a powerful point worthy of applauding. It is my conviction that the powerful point you saw was lost in the other powerful points. The point that I believe that was powerfully communicated is that black people are not responsible for their holocaust. That point is not beneficial to the black community.

5.) Frankly, I think you missed the trees for the forest. So there … take that. (Imagine me playfully sticking my tongue out at you.)

6.) You may be right about Jesus not being pleased with my comments. I have a bad habit of using a soft touch. I am a work in progress on that score. Be patient with me. I will seek next time to really bring the fire.

7.) Please note, that I quoted somebody else who used the word “retard,” though I must admit that I fully agree with that assessment. All retard means is someone whose mental acuity is slow. If the shoe fits… And the Slick Willie reference is hardly the stuff of personal injury.

8.) David, allow me finish by saying if you expect to survive the next 20 years or so you need to re-asses what is and is not appropriate for a Christian.

      Thanks again for writing,

      Pastor Bret
