The Politics Of The Wuhan Virus

I am not a Doctor. I am not an epidemiologist. The closest I get to professional medicine is my wife who is Registered Nurse and who has spent time working in third world hospitals. I am not offering medical counsel in this post. I trust what I am offering is common sense in relation to the politics of this disease.

1.) Governments lie.

Anybody with any background in history know that Governments routinely lie. Some lie worse than others, but all lie. Communist governments especially lie. When they lie, they lie in pursuit of an agenda. This means we don’t know what we think we know about this Wuhan virus because we are being lied to. We should assume it and we should assume it regardless of which way the spin is blowing. This includes putatively scientific arms of Governments. This includes the CDC and the WHO. (The WHO has long been in the pocket of the Chinese communists for ages.)

2.) The Mainstream Media is globalist and is in the tank for disaster.

The mainstream globalist Media has lied throughout its history. The media has never been about telling its consumers the truth. The media has been about pursuing the agenda of whoever owns the particular media organ. Edith Efron with her book, “The News Twisters,” chronicled in a detailed fashion how biased the mainstream media was in its reporting on the 1968 Presidential campaign. That’s fifty years ago people. The mainstream media has an agenda and that agenda includes tanking the economy so has to rid the world of Donald J. Trump.

3.) Getting rid of Donald Trump.

I am not a fan of the “Big Orange.” I did not and will not vote for the man. However, neither am I irrational in opposing the man. Trump is a symbol and as a symbol he needs to be defended. That which Trump is the largest symbol of (legitimately or illegitimately) is nationalism. Trump stands, as a symbol, for the restoration of Nations and the destruction of the New World Order. Because of that the globalist mainstream media, as the propaganda arm of the Deep State, has been gunning for Trump since the day he was elected. Upon election they were looking for ways wherein they could deny him inauguration. They failed. The Deep State lied to FISA courts repeatedly (17 times is the last count I heard) in order to embroil Trump into accusations of conspiring with Russia. After an exhaustive investigation costing tens of millions of dollars, they failed. They then tried to impeach Trump over lick-spittle bull fecal on Ukraine. They failed — miserably. Now, we are at the next attempt to drive Trump out of office and that is the attempt to destroy the American economy by inflating the impact of the Wuhan virus. This is more about Trump than it is about the plague.

It is a well known truism that there are three ways of turning out of office those in power,

a.) Economic downturn
b.) Major Foreign policy blunder
c.) Major corruption proven

4.) The numbers are all over the map.

You don’t know how serious Wuhan is. Neither do I. Neither do the so-called experts. They are all flying by the seat of their pants. None of this has happened in a controlled environment where numbers can be dependably established and relied upon. The test kits have been sparse, which in turn impacts how the numbers are going to read. Different nations have had differing results in terms of numbers. China, Iran, Japan, South Korea and Italy are bottoming out. Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore have had far better results. One can’t just take numbers willy nilly and start saying that those numbers mean this or that for these united States. This may be the black plague. It may be merely the swine flu. I don’t know. You don’t know. The freaking experts don’t have ontological certainty. They are all projecting and speculating. Take a deep breath.

5.) The nations who have been swamped were economically integrated with the Chinese.

This means that the Wuhan virus is more malevolent the more any given nation was in bed with the Chinese-Communists.

6.) Trump spanked China on trade. Is this China spanking back?

People don’t want to entertain that this is a purposeful act of war on the part of the Chinese Communists. I don’t know that it is but I’m willing to entertain the thought. Trump’s trade tariffs have hurt the Chinese Communist’s economy. Why is it a far stretch to think that this is China seeking to hurt us and the West in general? I do know that Saul Alinsky advised that in order to win the day against opposition what must be done is to accuse the other side of what you are guilty of doing. This technique was practiced by the Deep State against Trump when it accused him of profiting from Wiki-leaks, when Hillary all along had an illegal server. Recently, the Chinese Communists have been making the case that it is America which purposely released this Wuhan virus. This inches me towards concluding that China purposely released this virus. Further, I think Trump was hinting at that possibility in his speech Wednesday Night when he pointedly referred to as the virus coming from China and then later noting that again when he spoke of “a foreign virus.”

8.) People are failing to consider that there are people who have recovered from the Wuhan virus and people who didn’t have to go to the hospital after contracting the virus. People are also failing to consider that we have had plagues before and survived. This is not the end of the world.

However, there is no way that numbers can be run on the success against the virus or the diminutive impact of the virus. Instead all we are getting doom, gloom, and despair.

9.) The Dems are not really taking this serious

The lack of seriousness on the part of the Democratic leadership is seen by the legislation they just sent to Trump to “fight the Wuhan virus.” In this proffered legislation is included funding for abortion plus every leftist wet dream you can imagine. If the politicians were serious about stopping the Wuhan they wouldn’t be concentrating on funding their pet projects.

10.) Virtue Signaling

Political correctness is going to be that which gets us killed. First, we don’t want to call this bug “The Wuhan virus,” because that would be “racist,” even though the damn thing originated in Wuhan. Second, we dare not mention the strange things the Chinese eat which some contend lent itself to this virus because that would be “racist.” Third, everything starts canceling because when one starts the others dare not be seen as just as caring and virtuous of those who have shut down. So, the NBA cancels, and then the NHL cancels, and then the dominoes keep falling because no one wants to be left out of the virtue signaling parade.

Note, I’m not saying that some of this may or may not need to have happened. I don’t know. What I am saying is that there is as much virtue signaling in all this as there is anything else.

And please don’t tell me about “the experts advice,” because there are no experts on the numbers because the numbers, in terms of how they are being collated and adjusted are virus stricken.

Honestly…. what we know is

1.) There is a virus
2.) It is having an impact
3.) That impact is NOT uniform in the differing nations it lands in

Of course … the panic has already begun and so who knows where we end up but wherever we end up it is quite possible we will end up there more because of mass hysteria than because of the Wuhan virus.

  1. Thanks for your posts….. I read all of them.
    What comes to my mind in all of this is 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
    And also John 14: 1-6 which begins…”Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me…..

    1. Great counsel Jim. I also think of Psalm 91

      Psalm 91
      1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
      will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
      2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
      my God, in whom I trust.”

      3 Surely he will save you
      from the fowler’s snare
      and from the deadly pestilence.
      4 He will cover you with his feathers,
      and under his wings you will find refuge;
      his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
      5 You will not fear the terror of night,
      nor the arrow that flies by day,
      6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
      nor the plague that destroys at midday.
      7 A thousand may fall at your side,
      ten thousand at your right hand,
      but it will not come near you.
      8 You will only observe with your eyes
      and see the punishment of the wicked.

      9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
      and you make the Most High your dwelling,
      10 no harm will overtake you,
      no disaster will come near your tent.
      11 For he will command his angels concerning you
      to guard you in all your ways;
      12 they will lift you up in their hands,
      so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
      13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
      you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

      14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
      I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
      15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
      I will be with him in trouble,
      I will deliver him and honor him.
      16 With long life I will satisfy him
      and show him my salvation.”
