Score One for Donald Trump Over Al Mohler, Jarvis Wiliams, Matt Hall and the SBC

So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light. Luke 16:8

Riddle me this.

Why is it that President Trump realizes the dangers of Critical Race theory prompting him to ban all the teaching of it in Federal agencies, but the Southern Baptist convention has embraced Critical Race theory as a legitimate tool by which to interpret culture.

So, who is more sanctified; Donald Trump or Al Mohler?

Who would you be more likely to entrust your child to be trained; Donald Trump or someone taught by SBC hack professors Jarvis Williams or Matt Hall?

It is a ruddy outrage that the worldview of the Southern Baptist Convention is so twisted that it would embrace Critical Race Theory.

  1. I can answer the riddle.

As much as Trump is a loud mouth and intolerable on many occasions
because of his arrogance, he will admit the truth when he is convinced of it.
He cares about the world he leaves his children and grandchildren. Even if its
    a bit misguided on occasion.

The crowd you speak of are panderers. They say what they think their
constituency wants to hear. I dont think the whole crowd of SBC followers
is on board with them, but they have stuck their finger in the wind and made the
wrong call. Just like Goodyear, MLB, NBA, NFL, and Nascar. They may pay for
believing they have picked the winning side.

Really hard to believe. An idependent pastor here in my home town has been
on the side of open immigration for a long time. Baptist preacher.

Its Love you know. Throw all your heritage, hardwork, tradition in the garbage
over appearing to be loving. Its Insanity!!

  2. The controversy surrounding the resolution revolves around the views promoted by CRT and Intersectionality. R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, stated, “Both critical race theory and intersectionality are a part of the continuing transformative Marxism that is now so dominant in higher education and increasingly in policy. Critical race theory emerged from worldviews, and from thinkers who were directly contrary to the Christian faith.”

Bret could you link us to what you read. This sounds like Mohler hasnt embraced CRT

      1. Al Mohler on his podcast Thinking In Public had James Lindsay as a guest to discuss Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality (CRT/I). The irony of it all is Al Mohler will condemn CRT/I while incubating it at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and countering efforts within the SBC (like the CBN) that aim to counter it.

  3. This question has baffled me for a long time as well: How is it that professed unbelievers often have greater spiritual insight than professed believers? Aren’t Christians supposed to be being guided into all truth by the indwelling Holy Spirit?

    1. Ron, the Holy Spirit led elders, pastors, evangelists, prophets, and teachers in
the first century into all truth.
Reason: They did not have the completed canon of the the new testament yet.
They saw dimly as though through a glass. With the completion of the NT we now
      see clearly.

If the Holy Spirit were still leading all “ordained” or not office holders into all truth today
we would have a consistent message. We dont. All these folks in “leadership” have an agenda.
There are some who are very sincere, just misguided.

The five fold offices of the first century were supernaturally inspired offices for a specific
limited 40 year transition period. To guide the elect out of the Mosaic covenant into Christs
      eternal New Covenant.

The Law of Christ is known by many because of others living it out for them to model.
Only hopelessly evil people dont want neighbors who live by the commandments of Christ.
They see it works better to love folks than to hate. Many biblically ignorant people are smart
enough to know what lifestyles are more pleasant to live under. Honey attracts better than vinegar.
