When I was in the corps

From The Official Obama Website

“The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in undeserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.”

One piece of evidence that a nation has gone fascist is that it is organized along military lines. The society, in essence, becomes one big military unit. Think Mussolini’s Italy. Think Hitler youth. Think Brown shirts. Think the cult of the military unit. Another piece of evidence that a nation has gone fascist is that it squelches the individual. Any individual that gets out of step with the hive (borg) is crushed or ostracized. Each is dependent upon the military unit they are a part of and each military unit is dependent upon the State.

So, dear reader, what corps are you looking forward to being a part of? I kind of my eye on the Clean energy corps, but maybe they will start a Obama Church corps for us religiously minded types.

We will be taking design suggestions for snappy uniforms for each of the corps Der Furher Obama is starting.

  1. “Moreover, a young victorious idea will have to reject any fetter which might paralyze its activity in pushing forward its conceptions. National Socialism as a matter of principle, must lay claim to the right to force its principles on the whole german nation without consideration of previous federated state boundaries, and to educate it in its ideas and conceptions. Just as the churches do not feel bound and limited by political boundaries, no more does the National Socialist idea feel limited by the individual state territories of our fatherland.
The National Socialist doctrine is not the servant of individual federated states, but shall some day become the master of the German nation. It must determine and reorder the life of a people, and must, therefore, imperiously claim the right to pass over boundaries drawn by a development we have rejected.
The more complete the victory of its ideas will be, the greater may be the particular liberties it offers internally.”
