Sundry Observations On The Regnant Follies

In the last 5 days I have become aware, receiving phone calls from points 1000 miles + in different directions, of young men who have been introduced to the fire that comes from it being known that they embrace Kinism (“race-realism,” “familialism,” ethno-nationalism”) or whatever label one wants to place on basically the same set of ideas. I must say that I continue to be perplexed over the angst that is created by embracing a Christian doctrine that has been embraced in all times and in all places where the Church has embraced orthodoxy … until 1960 or so.

Not only am I perplexed but I am saddened for them in terms of the price they are having to pay to swim against the tide. I am saddened by those who are making them pay that price. I am saddened (and angered) by the cowardice of those who would make these men of quality character walk their WOKE Cultural Marxist plank. Further, I am saddened that the people who are making them walk the plank can’t see the Christianity, church, and culture they are leaving to their children and grandchildren.

The greatest threat to Christianity, Christendom, and our homes today is egalitarianism in its various shapes and forms and yet the “conservative” “Reformed” church, as well as individual Christians, insists that those who are willing to call a spade a ruddy shovel on the issue must not be allowed to sully their churches or families. On the island of the insane, only the sane are considered insane.

Of course egalitarianism, historically, has always been the province of the Ana-Baptists and then later, the Marxists. Both have in common the impulse of leveling. Leveling is what egalitarianism does. It flattens out all God ordained distinction in favor of making of us all, regardless of our race, or gender cogs in the societal machine. We are seeing the effects of this leveling recently in the PCA as Michael Foster has exposed the feminism, matriarchy, and egalitarian leveling that is rife in the PCA. We saw the effects of the leveling by the leveling document on race passed this year by the ARP, RPCNA, and PCA. Recently, we have seen a leveling proposal that is being offered up in the CREC. It seems we are all Ana-Baptist and Cultural Marxist levelers now. Indeed, it seems even that one can’t love Jesus if they are not a leveler.

Of course this leveling and egalitarianism is not the witness that comes to us from Reformed History. John Calvin for example could write;

“Regarding our eternal salvation, it is true that one must not distinguish between man and woman, or between king and a shepherd, or between a German and a Frenchman. Regarding policy, however, we have what St. Paul declares here; for our, Lord Jesus Christ did not come to mix up nature, or to abolish what belongs to the preservation of decency and peace among us….Regarding the kingdom of God (which is spiritual) there is no distinction or difference between man and woman, servant and master, poor and rich, great and small. Nevertheless, there does have to be some order among us, and Jesus Christ did not mean to eliminate it, as some flighty and scatterbrained dreamers [believe].”

John Calvin
Sermon on 1 Corinthians 11:2-3

The flighty and scatterbrained dreamers Calvin refers to above are the Ana-Baptists but now it is the Reformed in the CREC, ARP, PCA, and RPCNA who are the flighty and scatter-brained dreamers.

Considering a tangent that is related to this issue, I am concerned about those who are reputed to be leaders in this movement. To be perfectly blunt I see a lot of grifters and con-men rushing to get to the front of the racial-realist growing parade. I am reminded of the tea-party movement after Obama was elected President. The rank and file who comprised the tea-party movement had good instincts but the whole movement was co-opted by the chaps who rushed to get in front of the parade in order to lead it. I am concerned that the same thing is going to happen with any resurgent Biblical and conservative counter-revolutionary impulse. For example, men like Michael Foster have explicitly made known in the past their opposition to even the most benign Kinism. Other chaps are running to get in front of the parade but one wonders where they were when the weather was a little more inclement on the subject. I don’t agree with Mahler’s Lutheranism, and I don’t agree with some of what I consider his explicit National Socialism fodder but I will give the chap this much… he has paid his dues.

Right now, the greatest danger to a burgeoning movement is fair weather friends. The greatest danger are those types who by all appearances are licking their finger and sticking it in the wind to see which way the wind is blowing before they dare take a position. These are a danger because they will pivot any time the wind shifts or the donations dry up. Some are also a danger because their worldviews are uneven. Men like E. Michael Jones are excellent on the Bagel question but just horrible on the race issue. Jared Taylor, on the other hand is excellent on the race issue but just terrible on the Bagel problem. Then there are others, like the CREC (Canon Press, Cross-Politic podcast) who say that they are against Ana-Baptist leveling and yet are horrid on both the race issue and the Bagel issue at the same time.

I don’t know where this all ends up. It keeps up at night. It drives me to my knees in prayer so I won’t stay up all night. I find myself praying for my children and grandchildren and the great-grandchildren I will never know. I don’t want them to grow up in cog culture where all distinctions are lost and where all colors bleed into one. You see, I understand, that the Cultural Marxist/Ana-Baptist egalitarian war for the sake of leveling has as its final goal the leveling of the distinction between God and man. In point of fact one might argue that leveling is the starting point of all this subsequent leveling.

My postmillennialism keeps me afloat. I know that God will win and space and time and so, despite the appearance of bad odds against us I continue to fight.

  1. “For the past generation and more, they have been working together in a concentrated effort to build up in the minds of our people a unanimous opinion that race is virtually non-existent, is at the most of no consequence, and that anyone who attaches importance to it, and especially anyone who would make it decisive in answering all sorts of social questions, is nothing better than an ignoramus, a bigot, and a hater of human kind, deserving of universal contempt and condemnation, if not of the whip. And yet, only about a hundred years ago, Benjamin Disraeli, prime minister of Great Britain in the reign of Queen Victoria, actually wrote: “All is race; there is no other truth. It is the key to history. And every race must fall which carelessly suffers its blood to become mixed.” -Disraeli, ‘Tancred & Endymion’ p. 477.

    Inspirational; thank you.

    What is your response to well-meaning chaps who say “Jesus has already won the war, so we just need to rest in Him” … and not resist Cultural Marxism, I guess.

    These same chaps expect persecution since, for example, Matthew 10:22-24. Very frustrating to hear being preached even in self-styled “conservative” churches.

    1. Hello Miller HM0880,

      You wrote asking;

      What is your response to well-meaning chaps who say “Jesus has already won the war, so we just need to rest in Him” … and not resist Cultural Marxism, I guess.

      Bret responds;

      I would say that it is true that Jesus has already won the war and having won the war He goes on from winning on to winning. I would remind people of the Scripture that teaches, speaking of the Ascended Lord Jesus Christ;

      I Cor. 15:25 “For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”

      Here you see that Christ does reign as your opposition is claiming and yet being victorious He continues to go from victory unto victory.

      So, there is a now – not yet to Christ’s reign. He is indeed reigning but as reigning He has yet to put more enemies under His feet. As His people walk in terms of the great King’s Law-Word we are the means by which He increasingly puts all enemies under His feet.

      And we operate as His dominion taking people all the while continuing to rest in Christ. Knowing that Christ, having had the victory, will continue to have the victory we can indeed rest in Him in all our contests for His glory and in His name.

      I would say that we should expect persecution but only in the context of fighting for the Crown Rights of King Jesus. Why would anybody persecute us if we are retreating from every contest? Persecution only comes in the context of fighting the good fight. Jesus Himself said, “If they hated me they will hate you also.” Jesus said, “In this life you will have trouble, but fear not, I have overcome the world.”

      The chaps you’re dealing with sound like Pietists and Pietists typically do want to retreat and insist that Christians should be pleased with being under the tutelage of the wicked.

      Our Fathers did not think that way.

        Makes sense, and a good counter-argument to the Pietists. Thank you for your detailed response.

    Glad to find I’m not the only one.

    My concern is that Christian nationalists, reformed kinists, etc do not go far enough in opposing egalitarianism. Lots of good articles are being written about the evils it leads to, but do we see how its evils have permeated fashion, movies, music, professional sports? Why are conservative Christians supporting these industries that have always been at the forefront in advancing egalitarianism and LBTQ wickedness?

    It wasn’t long ago when churches of all types were horrified at women wearing pants and cutting their hair short, as they rightly saw it was a decided step towards breaking down the male/female distinction. It wasn’t long ago when all agreed that women should keep their head covered in public worship as a sign they were under male authority, that Christians should do their utmost to keep Hollywood movies, rock, rap, and even country music out of their homes.

    It was just common sense: fashion icons, actors and actresses, and pop stars and have always been the leaders in promoting feminism, adultery, cross dressing, sodomy, transgenderism and so on.

    Why do brilliant minds like Greg Bahnsen go on and on about the need to defend the faith against the secularists and then talk about how much he loved listening to the Beatles? They openly declared war on all distinctions!

    Not until the Church goes back to disciplining members (after clear teaching of course) for wearing fashions invented by sodomites, listening to music produced by sodomites (or musicians that promote it), paying money and spending time watching movies produced by sodomites or those that promote it – will we see any lasting advancement of Christ’s kingdom on earth.

    1. You may like reading one of Soren Kierkegaard’s shorter and accessible works entitled ‘The Present Age’. It’s very relevant to this discussion. Following is a brief excerpt:

      “In ancient times, the single individual in the masses signified nothing; the outstanding individual signified them all. … The public is an idea which would never have occurred to people in ancient times. … Media creates that abstraction, which is filled with unreal individuals who are never united, nor can they ever unite simultaneously in a single situation or organization; yet still [they] stick together as a whole. The public is a body, more numerous than the people which compose it, but this body can never be shown; indeed, it can never have only a single representation because it is an abstraction.

      Yet this public becomes larger the more the times become passionless and reflective and destroy concrete reality; this whole, the public, soon embraces everything. … The public has a dog for its amusement. That dog is the Media. If there is someone better than the public, someone who distinguishes himself, the public sets the dog on him and all the amusement begins. This biting dog tears up his coat-tails, and takes all sorts of vulgar liberties with his leg — until the public bores of it all and calls the dog off. That is how the public levels.”

  4. Apologies if you have addressed this before, but what is your advice for those of us who have families & only alienist churches around us?

    1. Hello Ham Syde,

      Thanks for writing.

      You might be interested in knowing that I get phone calls from all over the States and even the world asking me this question. This questions arises not only from those living in rural areas but also from those living in large cities where one might think one could find a decent church.

      There is no easy solution to this;

      1.) If moving to an area with a genuine Church is possible then consider moving. (I know it is not always possible.)
      2.) If moving isn’t an option try to have some kind of weekly group bible study w/ the one or two families that share your convictions
      3.) There are tons of sermons families can watch online. We stream our Sunday services weekly. I would recommend digesting as a family a good Sunday morning worship service.
      4.) It is especially important that you lead your family in some kind of daily worship. It doesn’t have to be complex. A few minutes reading Scripture. A few minutes with the catechism. A few minutes teasing out worldview truth. Close with prayer.

      If you need any help with resources let me know.

      The Lord Christ Bless You and Keep You,

      Bret
